Who is Shamar Gaskin?

The truth is that I’m still learning who Shamar Gaskin is, and I believe this will endure for the rest of my life. Nevertheless, this is a fun space to map out my personal story.
I was born in St. Thomas, USVI, and raised between Anguilla and Barbados. Growing up, Anguilla was home during term time for school and Barbados is where I spent many of my school breaks. I’m an island man for life – born a fetelord.
I consider myself a philanthropist, dedicating my life’s work to community development, humanitarianism, and environmental conservation. I enjoy engaging in charitable endeavours, or simply lending a helping hand to anyone in need of something within my means. My desire for success in all of my projects and roles is primarily driven by the sense of purpose I derive from working to improve the quality of life for all, including future generations.
I have founded and enrolled in several community and volunteer groups, as well as other charitable initiatives. One of my private business ventures, TRPKL STORM, encompasses a charity arm, the TS Charity, which is home to my most ambitious goals for charitable contributions. My vision is for it to become a globally respected and effective humanitarian organisation, driven by a widely renowned brand.
My commitment to humanitarian efforts results in me being a staunch activist for human rights and social justice, and I may sometimes be found speaking out against matters of injustice on my social media platforms. I also participate in policy writing and review, both independently and via organisations I am a member of, in order to directly contribute to progressive and sustainable socioeconomic development.
I am always seeking new ways to utilise and sustain my giving nature, so feel free to contact me with any opportunities. If you’re feeling generous, you may make a donation to help me carry on and expand my work.
I’ve taught myself the basics of web development and graphic design, having created the websites and much of the branding material for my projects, including this space. I have also assisted with the design, building, and maintenance of websites and branding material for several other projects.
My interests in technology, creation, community, and digital spaces have also led me to becoming an investor in cryptocurrency and NFTs, while also working alongside various projects in the management and promotion of their tokens and communities. Feel free to contact me to learn more about any of these. I’ve also co-founded my own movement in the space, alongside my great friend, preferably referred to as my brother, Ea-Rhon Rogers. This movement is known by the world as Baad Goats.
I also enjoy writing in many forms and have experience with magazine and newspaper articles, blog posts, policies, business plans, development strategies, contracts, marketing content, short stories, music, poetry, and skits.
Communicating with others is something I enjoy, and I believe that people need not be limited by language barriers. As such, I engage in learning as many languages as I can. My native tongues are English and Anguillian dialect, with French being the first foreign language I’ve learned. I do try a bit of everything though, especially when meeting persons of different nationalities and cultures. I love to learn from others, so feel free to send greetings of your native languages and cultures my way.
While I enjoy art in a myriad of formats, music is my favourite form of human expression. I took an interest in playing the guitar in my early teenage years and also took up DJing and music production. I took a lengthy hiatus from these hobbies, but remained an avid fan of music and sporadically wrote songs and curated playlists. I eventually decided to reintroduce myself to creating my own musical content, and in the world of music I go by Shamar G. You may find my discography and news of upcoming releases here.
I’m an amateur sailor with hopes of eventually helming my own sailboat on long, leisurely cruising expeditions. My first experience with sailing was through Anguilla’s national sport, sailboat racing, and it was love at first sail. I am never not in the mood for a day at sea.
Aside from being at sea, I enjoy quite a few other hobbies on land, including basketball, roller skating, and other spontaneous outdoor activities and adventures.
While this isn’t all there is to know about me, I do believe it is a fair introduction. Feel free to explore and learn more.
